Bilal Bin Rabah Graduates 45 Students in Katsina

Bilal Bin Rabah Al-Islamiyya Wattahfizul Qur’an School has held its eighth Qur’anic graduation ceremony for 45 students in Katsina.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the graduating students included 37 females and 8 males who completed the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

The special guest at the event, Chairman of the Da’awah Committee of JIBWIS Katsina State chapter, Dr. Mukhtar Usman Alhassan, advised participants on the importance of education and good morals. He urged parents to be educated and maintain good character if they want their children to become knowledgeable and responsible individuals. He also stressed the importance of following the examples of the companions of Prophet Muhammad in order to raise disciplined and morally upright families.

One of the parents of the graduating students, Hon. Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, popularly known as Kogunan Jibia, encouraged young people, especially males, to work harder in seeking knowledge in order to build their future. He said he had observed that women are becoming more active in education than men in recent times, a situation he said should not continue. He also praised the school management and teachers for their efforts in teaching students the knowledge of the Qur’an.

The Headmaster of the school, Malam Aƙilu Sada Dutsi, explained that the school gives students the opportunity to continue memorising the Qur’an after completing their recitation. He said the school has sections for women and young girls, adding that some married women were among the students honoured during the eighth graduation ceremony. He added that the school had previously organised a special seventh graduation ceremony for students who memorised the entire Qur’an.

Malam Aƙilu Sada also advised the graduating students to practice the knowledge they acquired and remain humble. He urged them not to think they had reached the end of learning, noting that they would continue attending classes on Qur’anic memorisation and other Islamic studies, especially Islamic jurisprudence.

He further encouraged the students to continue improving their character and relationship with people. He also wished participants safe journeys back home after the event.

One of the graduating students, Ni’imatu Sa’idu Ibrahim, expressed happiness over her achievement. She praised the teachers for their dedication in teaching them the Qur’an as well as life and social interaction skills.

Ni’imatu also thanked parents for supporting their children in acquiring Islamic education. She prayed that she and the other graduating students would use the knowledge they acquired to teach younger students and positively impact society.
