The Nigeria Democratic Congress has extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Governorship aspirants from May 17 to May 24, 2026.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the party, however, announced that the collection of forms for the presidential position has been closed.
In a statement signed by the National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the party said screening of aspirants would begin on May 19 and end on May 26, 2026. It added that the collection and submission of Nomination Forms for cleared aspirants would start on May 20 and close on May 26. The party directed aspirants to appear for screening with documents including educational certificates, birth certificate or age declaration, voter’s card, passport photographs, membership card, and copies of their curriculum vitae.
The NDC stated that all submitted documents must be provided in six copies each. It explained that screening would be based on factors such as the wishes of the electorate, local considerations, competence, and character of aspirants. The party also urged aspirants to respect its guidelines, support consensus-building, and comply with all deadlines, noting that only cleared aspirants would be allowed to purchase Nomination Forms.
