The Customs Area Controller of the Katsina Command, Comptroller Abba-Aji Idris, has initiated a week-long sensitization campaign across all border stations within the command. This initiative aims to rebuild and strengthen relationships between the Nigeria Customs Service, border communities, and some agencies.

During the campaign, Comptroller Abba-Aji emphasized the importance of professionalism, integrity, and diligence in delivering effective service. He urged officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct, stressing the need for discipline and accountability in their duties. “Our relationship with the communities we serve is a vital component of national security and economic stability,” he stated, highlighting the necessity for customs personnel to be professional, approachable, and dedicated to the core values of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Comptroller also engaged with community leaders and local stakeholders, reaffirming the service’s commitment to transparency, cooperation, and mutual respect. He pointed out that collaborative efforts between customs personnel and host communities are essential for curbing smuggling activities and enhancing border security.
