TY Buratai Foundation Urges Tinubu to Raise Minimum Wage

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase the minimum wage in 2025 under the Renewed Hope Agenda. According to the Foundation, this move would help workers cope with the high socio-economic demands of daily life.

The Foundation’s Chairman, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, made this call during the Workers’ Day celebration on May 1, 2025. The event was marked to honor the dedication and resilience of workers across the country. Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (retd), former Chief of Army Staff and Grand Patron of the Foundation, joined workers in celebrating the day.

The Foundation’s findings revealed that workers at both federal and state levels struggle to afford their families’ medical bills and other essential expenses. The Foundation believes that an increase in minimum wage would rekindle workers’ hopes and improve their living conditions.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation called for unity among stakeholders to ensure workers’ voices are heard and their needs addressed. The Foundation stands in solidarity with the labour force while advocating for their rights and welfare.

The Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable and marginalized communities through humanitarian initiatives focused on education, essential services, and social issues. The Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support and uplift those in need.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation’s call for a minimum wage increase is a timely reminder of the need to prioritize workers’ welfare. As the country celebrates Workers’ Day, the Foundation’s advocacy serves as a call to action for stakeholders to work together towards improving the lives of workers and promoting national development.
