The Katsina State Government, led by Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has collaborated with the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) Limited to disburse financial support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jibia and Dutsinma Local Government Areas.
The program, which aims to support affected communities with ₦10,000,000, has already benefited 300 IDPs in Katsina Local Government, with each recipient receiving ₦20,000. Similarly, 200 IDPs in Jibia and Dutsinma Local Governments received ₦20,000 each.
Shehu Mai-Bornu, Group Managing Director of NNDC Limited, represented by Mohammed Abdullahi, emphasized the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and supporting communities in need. “This contribution is part of NNDC’s unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and our strong belief in supporting communities in need across Northern Nigeria.”
Mai-Bornu commended the Katsina State Government’s efforts in addressing humanitarian challenges faced by IDPs. “We recognize the tireless efforts of the Katsina State Government led by His Excellency, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D in addressing the humanitarian challenges faced by our brothers and sisters displaced by insecurity and other crises.”
Hon. Saidu Ibrahim Danja ‘Kogunan Jibia’, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), urged beneficiaries to remain hopeful, assuring them that the state government and NNDC would continue to support initiatives that foster rehabilitation, empowerment, and long-term development.
The collaboration between the Katsina State Government and NNDC demonstrates a commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society.
