The Kabir Magaji Gafiya Foundation has provided financial assistance and educational materials to 557 individuals in Kaita, Katsina State. This initiative aims to support vulnerable members of the community, including widows, people with disabilities, and students.
During the disbursement event held at the Kaita Local Government Secretariat on Sunday, February 23, 2025, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe commended the foundation’s efforts. Representing Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Jobe highlighted the importance of community support and encouraged wealthy individuals to engage in charitable activities that benefit society.
Jobe noted that the current administration has fulfilled its campaign promises within two years, emphasizing the government’s commitment to development across Katsina State. He stated that the government’s initiatives have positively impacted various sectors, ensuring that many residents have benefited from ongoing projects.
Alhaji Yusuf Aliyu Musawa, Chairman of the Gwagware Foundation, praised Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafiya for his dedication to humanitarian service. Musawa acknowledged Gafiya’s efforts in bringing significant development to Kaita and noted that the Gwagware Foundation, established by Governor Radda in 2016, served as an inspiration for Gafiya’s philanthropic work.
Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafiya, the founder of the foundation and Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), expressed gratitude for the support received from the Gwagware Foundation, which contributed ₦1,000,000 to assist the needy. He also commended the Radda administration for its advancements in the education sector and other areas.
The beneficiaries of the foundation’s support included a diverse group: widows, disabled individuals, youth, and students. Financial assistance ranged from ₦15,000, ₦20,000 to ₦30,000, while students received essential educational materials such as bags, books, and pens.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the event attracted notable dignitaries, including Hon. Sirajo Abdu Kwaskwaro, a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Katsina State on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Hon. Saidu Ibrahim Danja ‘Kogunan Jibia’, and other government officials. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort to uplift the community and promote educational development.
