Sirajo Ado Meets with Transport Unions Ahead of Campaign

Hon. Sirajo Ado, the chairmanship candidate for Jibia local government in the upcoming 2025 local government elections in Katsina State, met with representatives of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Heavy Truck, Keke Napep, and Okada drivers’ associations.

The meeting aimed to gather ideas and suggestions from the transport unions to improve business and development in Jibia local government, aligning with Sirajo Ado’s 5-point agenda. This agenda focuses on Education, Health, Agriculture, Business, and Security.

Sirajo Ado emphasized the importance of the transport unions’ contributions to the region’s development. He stressed using the NURTW law, which prohibits drivers from dropping off passengers outside designated stations, to enhance security and peace.

Alhaji Babangida Daddara, speaking on behalf of the NURTW president, advised Sirajo Ado to commit to fulfilling his 5-point agenda. He highlighted the benefits of cooperation between Sirajo Ado and the transport unions, particularly in improving security.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the chairmen of the Heavy Truck Drivers Association, Keke-Napep Drivers Association, and Motorcycle Drivers Association expressed their support for Sirajo Ado’s candidacy. They praised his initiative in seeking their advice, a first from a political candidate in Jibia local government.

Alhaji Adamu Sule, former member of the House of Representatives, noted the unity among Jibia local government politicians, unseen since the beginning of democracy. He added that opposition parties are not contesting Sirajo Ado’s candidacy.

Alhaji Kabiru Manshe, Personal Assistant to Hon. Sada Soli, stated that the people of Jibia local government hold Sirajo Ado in high regard, which is why they asked him to run for the local government chairmanship without opposition.

The meeting held at his house in Jibia, on Monday, January 20, 2025, demonstrated Sirajo Ado’s commitment to engaging with stakeholders and incorporating their ideas into his development agenda for Jibia local government.
