A remarkable event took place in Jibia, Katsina State, as 180 students gathered to recite the Holy Quran at the Hizburrahim School. The reciters, comprising 100 men and 80 women, showcased their proficiency in Quranic recitation.
The school, renowned for graduating numerous Quran reciters annually, hosted its 13th ceremony in 2025 under the guidance of Malam Ishaka Abubakar. The event highlighted the significance of education and its impact on human life, as emphasized by Sheikh Abdullahi Abubakar Yabo in his lecture.
Sheikh Abdullahi Abubakar Yabo, a scholar from Zamfara State, cited an example of a predecessor blessed with profound understanding of the Quran. His lecture underscored the importance of seeking knowledge and understanding the Quran’s teachings.
Malam Ishaqa Abubakar, the principal of Hizburrahim school, expressed gratitude to the attendees and provided guidance to the Quran-reciting students. He advised parents on nurturing and safeguarding their children’s divine gift of Quranic knowledge.
Hon. Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Katsina State, lauded the governor’s emphasis on promoting Quranic education. He thanked Islamic scholars for their prayers for security and peace in the community.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Hon. Mustafa Yusuf, a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, and Hon. Sirajo Ado, a chairmanship candidate in the upcoming 2025 local government elections. Sheikh Yakubu Yahaya Katsina, a renowned Islamic scholar, also graced the occasion.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the celebration took place on Saturday, January 15, 2024, at the Pilot Primary School in Jibia town. The event demonstrated the community’s commitment to Islamic education and its value in promoting peace and security.
