The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has appointed 50 Hausa singers, comedians and 15 persons living with disabilities (PLWDs) as Special Assistants.
Presenting offer of appointment to the three categories of people at the party office in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, the Kebbi State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru said the offer signified the governor’s liberality to give all manner of people a sense of belonging.
He described the governor as a man of the people and a leader admired by all, adding that the governor indeed wanted to touch lives of Kebbi people in all ramifications.
Kana-Zuru advised the appointees to do everything possible to justify the confidence reposed in them by supporting the present administration in the state to deliver the dividends of democracy to its populace.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed-BK described His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu as a reformer, who not only brought positive transformation to the state but also ensured human capital development.
He said the decision of the governor to absorb such calibre of people into his government was informed by his desire to embrace and accommodate all manner of people into his leadership.
In a Press Release signed by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kebbi State, stated that the commissioner lauded the governor for embarking on different projects that have direct bearing to the lives of the common people, while urging all and sundry to rally round the governor to enable him achieve his desired mission and vision of transforming the state.
Ahmed-BK listed achievements of the governor to include; completion of Multi-Billion Naira Ultra-Modern State Secretariat, expansion of Birnin Kebbi city roads to triple lane with solar powered street lights, construction of blocks classrooms in different schools and construction of primary and secondary health facilities.
Others according to him, are; distribution of fertilisers to farmers free-of-charge, distribution of solar powered water pumps to boost dry season farming, supply of other farm implements, as well as youth and women empowerment among others.
