NDC Swears In New Executives in Katsina

The Katsina State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has sworn in its newly elected executives at the state, local government, and ward levels, following the completion of congresses conducted across the 34 local government areas and 361 wards of the state.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that Barrister Ismail Umar administered the oath of office to the new executives in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Katsina city.

After taking the oath of office, the executives pledged to carry out their duties with honesty, integrity, and obedience to the laws of the country and the constitution of the NDC. Delegates of the party from the 34 local government areas also reaffirmed Alhaji Ishaq Hussaini Suleiman as the State Chairman of the party in Katsina State.

Other officials confirmed include Comrade Aliyu Namadina as Deputy State Chairman, Suleiman Ibrahim Talba as State Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Abubakar Tela as Vice Chairman of Funtua Senatorial Zone, Malam Salisu Haruna as Vice Chairman of Katsina Senatorial Zone, and Alhaji Abu Mai Kudi as Vice Chairman of Daura Senatorial Zone. Party delegates said they renewed their confidence in the leaders because of their commitment and efforts toward strengthening the party across the state.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, the Katsina State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ishaq Hussaini Suleiman, promised to work hard to ensure the party succeeds in future elections at different levels.

He said the NDC is determined to provide honest leadership, justice, and development for Nigerians. He also praised the National Leader of the party, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for his efforts in uniting the party and promoting good leadership in the country.

Some of the newly sworn-in executives said they would work together to ensure the success of the NDC from the state level down to the local governments and wards. They added that the party has good policies that can bring positive change to politics and governance while improving the welfare of the people.

Political analysts described the NDC in Katsina State as a growing political party that could bring positive changes in leadership if it continues on its present path. They said the state chairman, Alhaji Ishaq Hussaini Suleiman, is a committed politician with strong principles and a clear vision for meaningful development and solutions to the problems facing the people.
