Supporters of Hon. Muhammadu Halliru, popularly known as Sadaukin Jibia and Sardaunan Kaita, have once again reaffirmed their support for him during a political gathering held in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The gathering took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Bakin Kuka area in Jibia town, where representatives from 29 polling units in Jibia B ward came together to show their loyalty and support for Halliru, despite his failure to secure the House of Representatives ticket following the consensus arrangement reportedly adopted by the APC.
Speaking at the event organised by Aminu Tasi’u Bachaka, he said they decided to support Sadaukin Jibia because of his humanitarian activities even before joining politics. He added that Hon. Halliru had supported youths, the less privileged, and educational development in the area, which convinced them to stand firmly behind him politically.
Aminu Bachaka stated that 145 people attended the meeting, with each of the 29 polling units represented by five delegates. He said each delegate also has about 20 supporters, showing the level of Halliru’s popularity and influence among the people. He further stressed that they have no other candidate they will support apart from whoever Hon. Muhammadu Halliru endorses.
In his remarks, Malam Gaddafi Lawal declared his support for Sadaukin Jibia and pledged his vote alongside those of his 347 supporters. He praised Muhammadu Halliru for his development efforts, especially his support for Islamic scholars and religious activities. He also noted that Hon. Halliru had assisted a local volunteer security leader to strengthen community security efforts.
Gaddafi Lawal also criticised some political leaders in the area, accusing them of failing to contribute towards the construction of a camp for the Jibia Youth Security Volunteers, despite the group’s important role in supporting security agencies. He said such neglect reflects a lack of concern for the wellbeing of the community.
Some participants at the gathering described the meeting as an important step toward strengthening unity within the APC. They said as loyal party members, they would continue to follow the directives of Hon. Halliru and contribute fully toward the future success of the party.
Political analysts said the failure to give Halliru the party ticket poses a major challenge for the APC in Kaita and Jibia areas. They said Halliru enjoys strong public support and influence, adding that if given the opportunity, he could help the APC achieve victory at different levels in the 2027 elections.
