The Katsina State chapter of the has sworn in its new state executives following the completion of congresses conducted at state, local government and ward levels across the state.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the new executives were sworn-in in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the constitution of the party. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Katsina city.
After taking the oath of office, the new leaders pledged to carry out their duties with honesty, integrity and obedience to the laws of the country and the party. Delegates from the 34 local government areas of the state also reaffirmed Bello Adamu Safana as the Chairman of the party in Katsina State.

Party delegates said they renewed their confidence in the leadership because of their commitment and efforts toward strengthening the party across the state. They added that the executives had shown dedication in mobilising members and promoting unity within the party.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the event, the state chairman, Bello Adamu Safana, promised to work hard to ensure the success of the party in future elections. He said the SDP is committed to providing honest leadership, justice and development for the people of Nigeria.

Some of the newly sworn-in executives said they would work together to ensure the success of the SDP from the state level down to local governments and wards. Political analysts also described the SDP in Katsina State as a growing political party capable of bringing positive changes in governance if it continues to follow its present vision and direction.
