Kebbi State Hosts 39th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition with Participants Nationwide

The 39th National Qur’anic Recitation Competition has commenced in Kebbi State, featuring participants from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

While declaring the event open, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris expressed gratitude to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, for selecting Kebbi State as the host of this significant Islamic occasion.

Governor Idris noted that it was a privilege for the state to host this important event after twenty years.

While commending the Organisers of the event for a job welldone, Governor Idris also welcomed the participants to the state.

The Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, who served as the Royal Father of the Day, emphasized on the significance and virtues of the Holy Qur’an.

The Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Professor. Bashir Garba, representing the organizers under the Centre for Islamic Studies Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, described the Qur’an as a source of guidance and blessings for humanity and urged the participants and attendees to use the occasion as an opportunity to reconnect with the Qur’an and their Creator.

The annual competition is organized by the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, through its Centre for Islamic Studies.
