Wife of Mai’adua Chairman Declares Support for Radda’s Re-Election

The wife of the Mai’adua Local Government Chairman, Hajiya Umma Salisu Na Allahu, says women in the area strongly support the re-election bid of Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, in 2027.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Hikaya Newspaper at her residence, Hajiya Umma reaffirmed her commitment to mobilizing grassroots support for the governor, noting that his developmental projects have positively transformed Mai’adua LGA, especially in the areas of women empowerment and social welfare. She said local women have benefited from various state initiatives, including the goat-rearing programme, small-scale business support, and AGILE interventions that have significantly increased girl-child school enrollment.

She listed additional achievements recorded under Governor Radda’s administration, including improvements in primary healthcare, where new maternal centers have been built in different wards to reduce delays in accessing medical services. She added that Islamic education has also received attention, with the construction of several Islamiyya schools across the local government area. Similarly, she noted that steady routine immunization and total compliance have contributed to eliminating polio cases in Mai’adua.

Hajiya Umma further commended the state government’s grain distribution initiative to vulnerable families, saying it has brought relief to hundreds of households. She also highlighted the provision of solar streetlights and boreholes in schools and strategic locations, which she described as major steps toward improving community wellbeing. She praised the Katsina First Lady, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda, whose humanitarian activities have inspired wives of elected local government chairmen to emulate her leadership style.

She concluded by urging women and eligible voters to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 general elections. Hajiya Umma called on residents of Mai’adua and Katsina State at large to unite and ensure the return of Governor Dikko Umar Radda for a second term.
