KATSACA Distributes Delivery Kits to 100 Pregnant Women

The Katsina State Agency for the Control of AIDS (KATSACA) has distributed delivery kits to 100 pregnant women in Charanchi Local Government Area, and conducted an awareness campaign on how they can protect themselves from HIV infection.

The event was held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Charanchi General Hospital, under the leadership of the KATSACA Executive Secretary, Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, in collaboration with the Office of the Katsina State First Lady, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Umar Radda. Various presentations were delivered on ways to protect both mother and child from HIV infection, and free delivery kits were given to the pregnant women.

In her remarks delivered by her representative, Hajiya Hauwa’u Abdulkadir Andaje, the First Lady of Katsina State expressed her delight at being the special guest at the event. She stated that the campaign aligns with the United Nations’ global goal of eliminating HIV, and that the distribution of delivery kits would support expectant mothers in achieving safer and healthier childbirth.

The KATSACA Chairman, Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, emphasized the importance of public awareness on preventive measures and the steps individuals should take to prevent the spread of the virus. He explained that the event was organized in collaboration with the First Lady’s office to educate pregnant women and provide them with free delivery kits and transportation support.

The Chairman of Charanchi Local Government also commended the First Lady for her commitment to improving the health of pregnant women and the wider Katsina population. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Jigawa State Agency for the Control of AIDS (JISACA), Alhaji Ibrahim Almajir, community leaders, women leaders, pregnant women, and other residents.
