A coalition of over ten civil society organizations in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State has staged a rally to reaffirm their support for Governor Dikko Umar Radda and Engr. Aminu Barau Mairua.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the groups vowed to buy gubernatorial candidacy forms for both leaders to enable them contest in the 2027 elections.
The coalition, comprising thousands of members, expressed their appreciation for the good work done by Governor Radda and Engr. Mairua in the state, particularly in Faskari Local Government Area. They cited Engr. Mairua’s significant contributions to the development of Katsina State during his tenure as General Manager of Katsina State Housing and Estate, and currently as Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development Program (CDP).
Kabir Maijakai Bilbis, Chairman of the coalition and also Chairman of Dikko 4+4 and Dikko Continuity Coalition in Faskari Local Government Area, said the people of Faskari deserve to support Engr. Mairua’s candidacy. He highlighted Engr. Mairua’s achievements, including providing capital to 500 women and youths, sponsoring medical treatments, and building infrastructure in the area.
The coalition leader appealed to Governor Radda and Engr. Mairua to accept their support and respond to their call. He assured that the groups will work tirelessly to ensure their success in the 2027 elections. The meeting, which held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Daudawa town, saw a large turnout of APC leaders, young men and women, and other community members.
The civil society groups’ decision to buy candidacy forms for Governor Radda and Engr. Mairua demonstrates their commitment to supporting leaders who have shown dedication to the development of Katsina State. The rally was a testament to the strong support base of the two leaders in Faskari Local Government Area.
The event concluded with a call on the people of Faskari to join the coalition in supporting Governor Radda and Engr. Mairuwa’s bid for re-election and Mairuwa’s success in the upcoming elections.
