NDC begins sale of 2027 nomination forms
The Nigeria Democratic Congress has announced the commencement of the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants contesting elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party said the sale of Expression of Interest Forms will begin on May 13 and end on May 18, 2026.
According to the timetable released by the party, screening and interviews for aspirants will hold from May 19 to May 21, while the sale of Nomination Forms will take place from May 21 to May 23, 2026. The party directed aspirants to appear for screening with their credentials and supporting documents, while completed forms must be submitted on or before May 25, 2026.
The party added that appeals from the screening exercise would be treated on May 25 and 26, while primary elections for different elective positions are scheduled for May 27 and 28, 2026. The Presidential Primary Election will hold on May 29 in Abuja. It also explained that governorship primaries would be conducted at the local government level, while screening for presidential and National Assembly aspirants would take place at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
The NDC said it would use the open secret ballot system during the primaries to ensure fairness and credibility. The party also released the approved nomination fees for different offices and announced discounts for female aspirants and persons living with disabilities. It assured members and aspirants of a transparent and democratic process capable of producing credible candidates for the 2027 general elections.
