The Katsina State House of Assembly has begun reviewing the 2027 budget proposals of government ministries, departments and agencies.
The first budget defence session was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2027, during which ministries and agencies presented their plans, policies and programmes for which they are seeking funding in the 2027 budget.
Those who appeared before the Committee on Administration included the Government House, Office of the Deputy Governor, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Department of Establishment and Training, Department of Inter-Governmental and Development Partners, Department of Political Affairs, Civil Service Commission and State Independent Electoral Commission.
Others included the Department of Strategic Monitoring and Evaluation, Bureau of Public Administration Reform, Pension Commission, Department of Labour and Productivity and Katsina State Bureau of Pension. The Assembly’s Committee on Youth and Sports Development also heard presentations from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Sports Council on their plans and funding requirements for 2027.
The exercise is part of the Assembly’s process of reviewing and assessing the budgetary needs of government ministries and agencies before concluding consideration of the Katsina State 2027 Appropriation Bill.
