Hon. Aminu Lawal, popularly known as Danmalikin Jibia and the APC candidate for the Katsina State House of Assembly seat representing Jibia Local Government Area in the 2027 election, has sought the support of Hon. Mustapha Yusuf.
Lawal made the appeal on Tuesday, September 15, 2027, during a visit to Mustapha Yusuf at his residence in Katsina to seek his support and that of his supporters. He said the political process in Jibia could not move forward effectively without the cooperation of Mustapha Yusuf, stressing that he would not support any arrangement that undermines Yusuf’s interests or those of his supporters.
The Danmalikin Jibia said he was committed to keeping his word and would work to provide effective representation for the people of Jibia if elected. He acknowledged that Mustapha Yusuf had more experience in legislative affairs, having represented the people of Jibia for three democratic terms, and said he was prepared to work with him to advance the interests of the community.
Lawal described the visit as part of efforts to strengthen unity among APC members ahead of the 2027 election. He appealed to Mustapha Yusuf and his supporters to support his candidacy in the interest of the development of Jibia and its people.
Lawal was accompanied by some of his associates, including the Secretary of the Jibia Local Government Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal. At Yusuf’s residence, they met with some of his supporters, including councillors, the Leader of the Councillors, politicians, business owners and members of his social media team.
Responding, Hon. Mustapha Yusuf welcomed the visit and stressed the importance of mutual respect and trust in leadership. He described his relationship with his supporters as strong, saying, “We have become like family,” and noted that those present at the meeting represented his wider support base.
Mustapha Yusuf also said that leaders should maintain good relationships with their neighbours, friends, relatives and the wider community. He wished Hon. Aminu Lawal well. The meeting was attended by the APC Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area, Nasiru Almustapha Danye, as well as other supporters and associates of both Hon. Mustapha Yusuf and Hon. Aminu Lawal.
The visit came as political parties and aspirants continue preparations for the 2027 general elections, with unity, mutual respect and effective representation remaining key issues in political engagements across Jibia and Katsina State.
