The commitment was made on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, when the State Steering Committee of the APC Zalla Movement paid separate courtesy visits to the APC State Secretariat and the Office of the Speaker in Katsina. The movement, founded by the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (KATSACA), Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, said the visits were aimed at formally introducing the organization, seeking guidance, and strengthening collaboration with party leaders. Dr. Kankia explained that the movement was established to mobilize grassroots support, promote party unity, and complement the efforts of the APC in securing victory at all levels in the 2027 elections. He assured party leaders that the organization would remain committed to supporting every candidate officially nominated by the APC through peaceful political engagement and effective voter mobilization.

He expressed confidence that the movement’s growing presence across the state’s local government areas, wards, and polling units would strengthen the APC’s electoral chances. According to him, the party remains focused on expanding its support base through unity, effective organization, and sustained engagement with the people. He also expressed optimism that the APC would remain competitive ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, praised the movement for supporting the party’s vision and encouraged its members to remain united and law-abiding. He said the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umar Radda were implementing programmes aimed at improving the lives of citizens. Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia reiterated that APC Zalla Movement would continue to operate within the framework of the APC while promoting peaceful political participation and strengthening communication between the party leadership and grassroots supporters. He stressed that the movement’s priority is to encourage wider citizen participation, deepen public awareness of government programmes, and support activities that foster unity within the party.
Political observers said the emergence of the APC Zalla Movement could further strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilisation strategy in Katsina State. They noted that the movement’s structure, which extends from the state level to local governments, wards, and polling units, may provide an additional platform for public engagement, political education, and the dissemination of information about the policies and programmes of the Tinubu and Radda administrations ahead of the 2027 elections.
The visits concluded with renewed assurances of cooperation between the APC leadership and the APC Zalla Movement. Both sides expressed optimism that sustained dialogue, grassroots mobilisation, and unity among party members would contribute to the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
