New Executive Council Sworn in at Jibia LGA

A new Executive Council was sworn-in in a significant development for the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, including Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal, eight Supervisory Councilors, and two Special Advisers.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Sirajo Ado.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Local Government’s conference chamber with Barrister Mannir Shehu officiating. The newly appointed Supervisory Councilors are Nura Musa Kaftan, Sani Lawal, Sama’ila Gurbi, Ibrahim Usman, Ibrahim Muhammad, Isma’il Adamu, Zuwaira Ashiru, and Babangida Salisu. Fahad Yunusa and Maryam Abdu Kerau were appointed as Special Advisers on Youth Affairs and Women Affairs, respectively.

During the event, Chairman Sirajo Ado urged the new council members to embrace their responsibilities and serve the community diligently. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in addressing the needs of the people in Jibia Local Government Area.

Hon. Mustafa Yusuf, a member of the Katsina State House of Assembly representing Jibia, highlighted the expertise and roles of the newly sworn-in members. He noted that their specialized knowledge would support the Chairman in implementing policies and programs effectively, thereby enhancing governance and development in the area.

The Chairman of the APC party in Jibia, Hon. Nasiru Almustafa, also addressed the new appointees, encouraging them to work hard for the betterment of the community. He stressed that their efforts would be crucial in fostering growth and development within the region.

Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal, the newly sworn-in Secretary, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in the new administration. He pledged to collaborate on development projects aimed at advancing the community and thanked attendees for their support during the ceremony.

Commentators have noted that these appointments could strengthen local governance and enhance community development. By appointing a Secretary, the Chairman can focus on strategic decision-making while ensuring efficient handling of administrative tasks.

Former Secretary Malam Muhammad Lawal expressed satisfaction with the electoral support for Hon. Sirajo Ado, confident that the new administration would continue to build on the progress made by the previous government. He announced this shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the council members that take place on Monday, May 12, 2025.
