“Lado prioritized his personal interests over the welfare of the people,” – Dr. Inuwa

Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, the Campaign Chairman for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 Katsina State Governorship Election, made strong allegations against former Governorship aspirant Yakubu Lado Danmarke. Inuwa claimed that Lado prioritized his personal interests over the welfare of the people of Katsina State.

Dr. Inuwa expressed his dissatisfaction with Lado’s leadership, stating, “Yakubu Lado was not before the people of Katsina State, but only about his own business.” He emphasized that Lado’s actions during his tenure did not reflect a commitment to addressing the needs of the state’s residents.

Reflecting on his past association with Lado, Inuwa recounted a conversation where Lado suggested that experienced individuals like himself should assist him as governor. Inuwa found this remark belittling and indicative of Lado’s lack of respect for the capabilities of others. “I laughed until I almost fell off the bed,” he said, highlighting his disbelief at Lado’s attitude.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that Inuwa also revealed that Lado had made a proposal regarding financial management, indicating a division of responsibilities that he found troubling. “Yakubu Lado said; yes, the problem is that I know between the governor and the assistant, it is a matter of money,” he quoted Lado, which further fueled his concerns about Lado’s governance approach.

Ultimately, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa expressed regret for his previous support of Lado, stating, “To be honest, I regret joining his service as a gubernatorial candidate, and I know that by God he is not qualified.” His comments reflect a significant shift in his stance and a call for more accountable leadership in Katsina State.
