Islamic Scholar Accepts Challenge to Debate Quran and Hadiths

A prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Yammawa, has accepted an invitation to engage in a debate on the Quran and Hadiths with followers of the ‘Qur’aniyyun’ sect.

Sheikh Dr. Yammawa, the chief imam of GRA Juma’at Mosque in Katsina city, Nigeria, is known for his teachings on the Quran, authentic Hadiths, and other Islamic texts. He is a claimant of Islam under Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatissunnah (JIBWIS) in Nigeria.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the debate was sparked by Sheikh Dr. Yammawa’s interpretation of a Quranic verse on Hajj in Suratul-Baqarah. He emphasized that Hajj can only be performed during the first ten days of the month of Zulhaj.

Followers of the ‘Qur’aniyyun’ sect, who believe in using only the Quran to guide worship, challenged Sheikh Dr. Yammawa’s views. They invited him to a face-to-face meeting to discuss their differences.

Sheikh Dr. Yammawa has confirmed his readiness to engage in the debate, stating that he is prepared to respond to the invitation and make the community aware of the truth.

The debate is expected to be broadcast live on television, radio, and online media platforms, allowing the public to follow the discussion.

Commentators believe that Sheikh Dr. Yammawa’s experience in debating with followers of the ‘Qur’aniyyun’ sect will serve him well in this upcoming debate.
