He stressed the importance of timely vaccinations, particularly for Polio, BCG, and Hepatitis B, available at Nigeria’s Primary Health Care Centers. Halilu highlighted that these vaccines protect against severe diseases and recommended exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, along with proper hygiene and regular health check-ups.

Health Promotion Officer (HPO) Malam Murtala Rabe and Nursing Officer (NO) Aminu Wali advised attendees on adopting healthy eating habits. They cautioned against excessive consumption of processed foods, red meat, and salt, which can lead to hypertension and diabetes. Instead, they encouraged a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, along with regular physical activity to promote overall health.

Nursing Officer Hajiya Hauwa Karofi focused on the health of pregnant women, advising them to attend regular prenatal check-ups and maintain a balanced diet. She emphasized the importance of hydration, avoiding harmful substances, and recognizing warning signs of complications. Karofi’s recommendations aim to ensure a healthy pregnancy and reduce risks for both mother and baby.

Doctor Ola Olatubosun addressed malaria prevention, urging the public to eliminate standing water and use insecticide-treated bed nets. He recommended protective clothing and consulting healthcare providers about antimalarial medications for those traveling to high-risk areas. Olatubosun’s advice aims to minimize malaria risk in the community.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that all speakers distributed pamphlets detailing common diseases and preventive measures, reinforcing the importance of health education in the community.

Mrs. Dorcas Bosode Frank, proprietor of VMMS, expressed gratitude to the health experts for their valuable insights and recommendations. She also thanked parents and community members for their support in providing quality education and health awareness for the children of Katsina State.
