Kebbi First Lady Distributes Free JAMB Forms to 2,500 Indigent Students

Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, wife of Kebbi State Governor, has distributed free JAMB forms to over 2,500 indigent students in the state. The beneficiaries, mostly less privileged, orphans, and persons with disabilities, were selected from the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State.

The distribution ceremony, held in Birnin Kebbi, was part of the Kauran Gwandu Advocacy Forum’s (KAGAF) initiatives to support education in the state. Hajiya Zainab Nasare recalled that her husband, Governor Nasir Idris, started the free JAMB form distribution four years ago to provide opportunities for indigent students to pursue higher education.

The First Lady, represented by Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, advised students to strive for excellence in their examinations, particularly in WAEC, NECO, and JAMB. She emphasized the need for students to work hard to achieve good grades, which would enable Kebbi State to take the first position in examinations nationwide.

Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande expressed appreciation to Hajiya Zainab Nasare for her initiatives and support for educational matters. She urged prominent individuals in the state to sponsor at least one child’s education, with a focus on girl child education.

Alhaji Abubakar Jabbo, representing the Commissioner, reminded students that possessing JAMB forms alone does not guarantee university admission. He emphasized the need for students to work hard to achieve requisite qualifications.

Comrade Monsur Sarki Gwandu, Chairman of KAGAF, commended Hajiya Zainab Nasare and Governor Nasir Idris for inspiring the forum’s members to achieve their objectives. He urged beneficiaries to fill the JAMB forms with appropriate subject combinations.

The distribution of free JAMB forms is a significant step towards promoting education in Kebbi State. The initiative demonstrates the state government’s commitment to supporting indigent students and providing them with opportunities for higher education.

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including education officials and representatives from KAGAF. The event marked a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to promote education and support disadvantaged students.
