APC rules out extension of nomination forms sale.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it will not extend the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nantewe Yilwatda, made this known while speaking to journalists in Abuja.

Yilwatda explained that the party is strictly following its approved timetable for the sales process. He said any decision to extend the deadline would only be taken by the National Working Committee (NWC) after due consideration, but added that there is currently no such plan.

He noted that the process has been smooth so far, which he said shows that the party is well-organized ahead of its primary elections. According to him, the APC remains committed to internal democracy and providing equal opportunities for all members to contest.

The chairman also pointed out that the large number of aspirants purchasing forms reflects the party’s popularity and acceptance across the country. He added that even the purchase of a presidential form by an aspirant highlights the level of democratic participation within the party.

He further assured that there have been no major challenges in the sale of forms, as banks and party officials are working together to ensure transparency. He said the party is also monitoring feedback, including from social media, to address any concerns. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the sale of forms is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026.
