The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the Minister of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to prepare for the 2027 elections.

Before this appointment, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The President also nominated Sola Enikanolaiye as the new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Until his nomination, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations. He is a seasoned diplomat with over 30 years of experience and has held several key positions, including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as diplomatic postings in different countries.

President Tinubu said the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign policy, improve international relations, and protect national interests. He congratulated the appointees and urged them to work hard to promote Nigeria’s economic growth and safeguard the welfare of Nigerians at home and abroad.
