Police fix April 28–30 for constable recruitment exam

The Police Service Commission, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has fixed April 28 to 30, 2026, for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables across the country.

In Katsina State, the examination will take place at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic located along Dutsin-ma Road. Only candidates who passed the earlier physical and credential screening are eligible to take part in the test.

Applicants have been directed to visit the official recruitment portal from April 24, 2026, to print their coloured examination invitation slip, which contains details of their exam date, time, and venue. Candidates are required to come with a writing pen, their NIN slip issued by National Identity Management Commission with a clear photograph, and the printed invitation slip. They are also expected to wear white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ali Umar Fage, stressed that the recruitment process is completely free. He warned that any form of fraud, job racketeering, or payment for the process will be treated as a criminal offence.

He advised all qualified candidates to strictly follow the guidelines and attend the examination according to the schedule on their invitation slips. Candidates were also urged to arrive on time and maintain order throughout the exercise.
