Hon. Muhammadu Halliru has paid a condolence visit to families of victims killed in a recent bandit attack in Jibia, Katsina State.
Hon. Muhammadu Halliru, popularly known as Sadaukin Jibia and Sardaunan Kaita, visited affected communities including Mil-Takwas, Farun Bala, Kadobe, and Falale in Jibia Local Government Area. The visit followed a violent attack that occurred on March 17, 2026, in Falale and Kadobe villages, where 16 people lost their lives.
During the visit, Halliru sympathized with the families and appealed to residents to remain calm. He assured them that the Katsina State Government, under Governor Dikko Umar Radda, will strengthen security efforts and support investigations to ensure justice and prevent future attacks.
Speaking to Hikaya Newspaper after the visit, Halliru described the incident as painful and heartbreaking. He said the loss of lives is a tragedy not only to the affected families but to the entire community. He added that there is a strong need for continued support for victims, especially children who lost their parents, and called for unity among the people during this difficult time.
He also expressed confidence in the government’s commitment to addressing insecurity. Halliru noted that more efforts are being made to protect lives and property, and he encouraged security agencies to intensify their operations in vulnerable areas. He further emphasized the importance of community cooperation in tackling security challenges.
Families of the victims expressed deep appreciation for the visit and support. They said the gesture gave them hope and comfort during their time of grief, and prayed for peace and stability in the area.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, was widely welcomed by residents, who described it as a sign of care and leadership.
