HOHDI Distributes Food Items to 80 IDPs in Jibia

A humanitarian group has distributed food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jibia, Katsina State.

The support was provided by the Home of Hospitality Development Initiative as part of its effort to assist people displaced by terrorist attacks in their communities. The organization said the intervention was the eighth support programme it has carried out in the area to reduce the hardship faced by displaced families.

Reports by Hausa Daily Post show that about 80 displaced persons from different villages in Jibia Local Government Area benefited from the assistance. The items distributed included rice, millet, beans, salt, and cooking oil to help the families meet their basic food needs.

The beneficiaries expressed happiness and appreciation for the support, noting that the distribution came at an important time as Muslims were preparing to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr after the month of Ramadan. The distribution took place on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Speaking to Hikaya Newspaper after the event, Bilkisu Yusuf Sulaiman, the Team Leader of HOHDI in Jibia Local Government Area, said the programme was aimed at reducing hunger and hardship among displaced persons. She assured them that the organization would continue to support them to improve their welfare and living conditions.

Bilkisu also advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the food items given to them for the benefit of their families. She explained that the assistance was part of HOHDI’s commitment to show care and concern for people affected by displacement and insecurity.

Some of the displaced persons who received the support thanked the organization for the gesture. They said the assistance would help their families during the festive period and prayed for the organization and its partners to continue helping vulnerable people in the community.
