An aide to the Governor of Kebbi State, Hon. Muhammadu Halliru (Jagaban Yamama, Sadaukin Jibia), has said that the ADC and other opposition parties will not be able to challenge the governors of Kebbi and Katsina States in the 2027 general elections.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that he described Governor Dr. Nasir Idris and Governor Dr. Dikko Umar Radda as having strong and clear chances of winning the forthcoming elections.
Halliru made this statement during an interview on the programme “Tattaunawa” aired on Kaftan TV in Abuja on Sunday, February 8, 2026. According to him, the people of Kebbi and Katsina have no alternative other than the current governors, whom he described as exceptional leaders with outstanding records in infrastructural and developmental projects.
He stressed that Governor Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) and Governor Dikko Umar Radda have implemented major development projects that directly impact the lives of the people, resulting in visible progress in both urban and rural areas. He added that these achievements have continued to attract supporters of opposition parties to defect to the APC.
Halliru further stated that the governors have made significant contributions to improving security, protecting lives and property, and executing new urban and rural development projects. He noted that priority has been given to economic growth, job creation, healthcare, education and agriculture.
Commenting on Kebbi State politics, Hon. Muhammadu Halliru dismissed allegations that the Kebbi State Government is exerting pressure to victimize the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN. He maintained that the EFCC investigation is being handled independently, without interference from the state government.
Halliru also said that Abubakar Malami lacks the popular support required to significantly influence Kebbi State politics, while urging young people to actively participate in politics and obtain their voter registration cards in order to contribute to national development.
