Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia, the National Legal Adviser of the APC, described the program as part of his commitment to complement the government’s development policies, especially in the areas of education and information dissemination. He expressed appreciation to the organizations that honored him with an Award of Recognition, stating that the gesture would further inspire his dedication to community service.
The official unveiling of the program, titled “Casual Staff and Media Enlightenment Program”, took place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Auditorium Hall of the School of Health, Kankia, under the Office of the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Murtala Aliyu Kankia. The event was attended by representatives of the APC from the state, northwest region, and national levels, in support of the developmental agenda of Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda.
The State Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Comrade Bashir Gyaza, has commended the efforts of Barrister Murtala Aliyu Kankia for sponsoring 70 school teachers as Casual Teachers and 70 social media practitioners, all of whom receive monthly stipends. The initiative aims to strengthen education and enhance public enlightenment for community development.
Speaking at the event, Mu’awiya Haladu emphasized that employing teachers and supporting media professionals is one of the most effective ways to promote education and public awareness. He stated that “strengthening the education sector means building an enlightened and self-reliant society,” and urged political leaders and traditional rulers to contribute more toward educational development in their communities.
On his part, Engr. Mahmud Hussaini, the Media Aide to the Katsina State Governor in Kankia Local Government, highlighted the vital role of social media in promoting government initiatives and achievements. He noted that the responsible use of social media helps draw government attention to community challenges and facilitates effective communication between leaders and citizens. He commended Barr. Murtala for empowering young people to use digital tools for civic engagement and development.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Kankia Local Government Area, Hon. Lawal Abdullahi, praised Barr. Murtala’s generosity and efforts in empowering youths and improving the education and infrastructure sectors in Kankia, Kusada, and Ingawa. Similarly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Yahaya, the member representing Kankia, Kusada, and Ingawa Federal Constituency, lauded Barr. Murtala’s outstanding contributions to the success of the APC and national communication progress, noting that his appointment as National Legal Adviser was a result of his exemplary service and commitment to the people.
