A large gathering of residents from Jibia and Kaita Local Government Areas converged for the official inauguration of the newly established Lasa Foundation and its office.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the foundation, initiated by philanthropist Alhaji Aliyu Almu Lasa under the theme Service to Humanity, was launched with a pledge of collaboration with Hon. Sada Soli, the Federal lawmaker representing Jibia/Kaita constituency in Katsina State.
Speaking during the ceremony, Alhaji Lasa reaffirmed his determination to sustain community-centered programs in partnership with Hon. Soli, citing his people-oriented politics and projects. He also commended Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, for his leadership style.

“This foundation will serve as a bridge between the government, representatives, and the people. Together, we shall uplift education, health, and social welfare in Jibia and Kaita,” he assured.
A key stakeholder in the foundation, Najib Hamisu Saha, highlighted some of its major interventions since inception, including distribution of food items, support for parents preparing for their daughters’ weddings, sewing and sharing of uniforms for primary and secondary students, and medical support for patients in hospitals. He pledged that the foundation would expand its scope in youth empowerment and skill acquisition programs.
In a goodwill message, Alhaji Usman Salisu, popularly known as Sarkin Dabino, who represented the Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Sirajo Ado, said the establishment of foundations like Lasa’s was inspired by the exemplary leadership of the APC in the area. “We are seeing a new trend where political leaders and philanthropists are uniting for the progress of our communities. This is a model that will ensure sustainable development,” he stressed.
Other dignitaries, including Alhaji Usman Sale Marini, Chairman of Sada Soli Support Foundation, praised the initiative, linking it to the positive impact of Governor Radda’s administration. He stated that with Hon. Sirajo Ado as Chairman of Jibia Local Government, APC remains unbeatable in the area. Similarly, Nasiru Hussaini One-Boy, CEO of Who Is Free Company, described Alhaji Lasa as “a pride to the community,” while noting the unprecedented contributions of both Governor Radda and Hon. Ado to grassroots development.
The ceremony also drew remarks from the education sector, with Comrade Abubakar Lawal, NUT Chairman of Jibia LGA, calling on the foundation to intensify its focus on educational programs. In his words, “The earlier support of uniforms to our pupils was impactful, but we now need new interventions in learning materials, teacher support, and scholarship schemes.” Similarly, Alhaji Nura DMG, founder of DMG Foundation, commended local businessmen and philanthropists for driving social welfare initiatives. APC Women Leader in Jibia, Hajiya Rashida Gwanda, urged the foundation to involve more women in decision-making processes.
At the close of the event, dignitaries accompanied Sarkin Dabino, who represented LG Chairman Hon. Sirajo Ado, to officially commission the foundation’s office at Tashar Aibo in Jibia town on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The event marked a milestone in community service and underscored the growing synergy between philanthropy, politics, and governance in Katsina State.
