SDP Condoles Mantau Village, Urges Stronger Security

The Katsina State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expressed deep condolences to the people of Mantau village in Malumfashi Local Government Area following the recent deadly attack by criminal elements. The attackers, described as ruthless bandits, engaged in indiscriminate killings, arson, kidnapping, and cattle rustling, leaving the community devastated.

In a statement signed on Thursday, August 28, 2025, by the State Chairman, Bello Adamu Safana, the party commiserated with families of victims, praying for Allah’s mercy on the dead and speedy recovery for the injured. He assured the community of the SDP’s solidarity during this period of grief, adding that the entire Katsina people deserve comfort and protection from such violence.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that Safana further lamented the rising insecurity across Katsina State and beyond, where countless innocent lives have been lost to similar attacks. He stressed that the killings were senseless and avoidable, calling for stronger action from government and security agencies.

The Katsina SDP urged government at all levels to prioritize intelligence-driven security measures, proactive rescue operations for kidnapped victims, and a strategic peace approach anchored on strength rather than fear. The party emphasized the need for a renewed security plan to decisively end banditry, stating that citizens must be guaranteed peace, dignity, and protection.
