Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated the people of the state on the 34th anniversary of its creation, describing the milestone as a moment of sober reflection and renewed hope.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that in a personally signed message, the governor said the anniversary provides an opportunity to review the state’s journey since 1991, assess its present realities, and chart a brighter course for the future.
Governor Ododo noted that Kogi State, from its humble beginnings, has endured challenges but recorded remarkable progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development. He stressed that while the state has not yet fully attained its aspirations, significant strides have been made in line with the vision of purposeful governance and the dreams of its founding fathers.
“At 34, we stand at a defining threshold. Roads are being built, schools remodeled, hospitals revitalized, and rural communities are beginning to feel the impact of good governance. We may not yet be where we desire to be, but we are certainly no longer where we used to be,” Ododo stated. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to building a future where quality education, affordable healthcare, thriving industries, and productive agriculture ensure prosperity for all citizens.
The governor further called on all citizens to take pride in the greatness of Kogi State, uphold peace, embrace hard work, and believe in the state’s collective destiny. He urged renewed commitment to unity and progress, assuring that his government will continue to work tirelessly to hand over a greater Kogi to future generations. He wished all citizens a happy 34th anniversary and reaffirmed his resolve to serve the state with dedication and vision.
