The Jibia Community football team defeated Security Agencies 1–0 in a football tournament organized by the non-governmental organization Search for Common Ground under the theme “Strong Borders Shared Peace” in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the tournament was aimed at strengthening unity and friendship between the people of Jibia and security agencies, while promoting peace and security in the area.

The only goal of the match came in the 18th minute when Nasiru Hussaini One-Boy of Jibia Community scored against Security Agencies. Despite the efforts of the security players, including Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ibrahim Garba and Divisional Officer of the Civil Defence Corps, Kabiru Saminu, who both displayed impressive performances, the team could not find an equalizer as the game ended 1–0 after 90 minutes.
The Jibia Community squad included: Surajo Mai Dambu, Ibrahim Longer, Bishir Dan Saraki, Abdullahi Ubale, Jamilu Lale, Zahara Maye, Aminu Kanu, Nasiru One-Boy, Darda’u Falau, Shukura Maye, and Lamunu Bature. On the other hand, the Security Agencies team featured officers from different agencies: Ibrahim Garba (DPO), Kabiru Saminu (NSCDC), AM Kalgo (Customs), Abdullahi Adamu Bugaje (NDLEA), Jafaru Umar (S.I.D), Usman Zubairu (Immigration), Azi Ibrahim (E.O.D), Emmanuel Peter (Port Health), Anka Yusuf (NAQS), Gift Joseph (Army Intelligence), and Samuel Udeh (NIS).
In his remarks, the Secretary of Jibia Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal ‘Sarkin Noma’, who represented the Chairman of the council, Hon. Sirajo Ado, commended the successful and peaceful conduct of the tournament. Similarly, the Head of Games in Jibia, Salim Aliyu Sani, described the event as an opportunity to unite the youth with security agencies, strengthening trust, peace, and cooperation among them.
The winning goal scorer, Nasiru Hussaini One-Boy, expressed joy for leading Jibia Community to victory, while appreciating his teammates for their support. For his part, DPO Ibrahim Garba praised the quality of the match, noting that despite the loss, his side showed determination. Kabiru Saminu of NSCDC said the competition has further bridged the gap between security agencies and the community. Similarly, AM Kalgo of the Nigeria Customs Service stressed that such tournaments help to foster unity and peace, especially in border areas.
The match was officiated by referees Yusuf Isma’ila, Lawal Sha’aibu, and Abba Yusuf Lawal, who were commended for fairness and professionalism. The tournament once again highlighted the vital role of sports in promoting peace, unity, and understanding between security agencies and local communities in Jibia.
