DMG Foundation Launches Mosquito Spraying Exercise

The DMG Foundation, led by Alhaji Nura DMG, has launched a mosquito and insect control spraying exercise in Jibia town, Katsina State, to fight against malaria and improve public health. The initiative is part of the foundation’s efforts to support vulnerable people, especially the poor, orphans, and those in need within the community.

Speaking, on Wednesday 6, August, 2025, at the launch of the program, which began in Sarki area, Alhaji Nura DMG explained that the spraying exercise is one of the foundation’s plans to help solve the challenges faced by residents. He said they reached out to the Member of the House of Representatives for Jibia and Kaita, Hon. Sada Soli, to support the idea of spraying insecticide in homes and neighborhoods to promote healthy living.

Alhaji Nura added that with the support of Hon. Sada Soli, the foundation will carry out the spraying in both Jibia and Kaita Local Government Areas. He thanked Hon. Sada Soli and the Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Sirajo, for their continued efforts to improve people’s lives through such helpful projects.

In his remarks, the District Head of Jibia, Alhaji Saminu Rabi’u, representing the Sarkin Arewan Katsina, praised the spraying exercise, saying it covered many areas to help reduce the spread of harmful insects. The APC Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Nasiru Almustapha Danye, also described the initiative as a good step towards protecting people’s health, showing that the APC government cares about its citizens.

In an interview with Hikaya Newspaper, a medical doctor, Dr. Shamsu Yusuf Kanawa, said the spraying project should serve as an example for others, explaining that such insecticide spraying can help prevent up to 70% of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria. People in Jibia and Kaita welcomed the exercise with joy and expressed hope that it would continue regularly in both the town and surrounding villages.
