On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina State, Honorable Sirajo Ado, marked his first 100 days in office, having been sworn in on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that his time in office has so far attracted commendation from the people of the area due to his dedication and commitment to responsible governance.
Hon. Sirajo Ado has distinguished himself as the first local government chairman in the state to adopt a leadership style that reflects that of the state governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda renowned for his strategic governance and impactful initiatives. During his election campaign, Hon. Sirajo Ado championed the “Dikko Agenda” with the slogan “Jibia First,” signaling his commitment to people-centered leadership grounded in transparency and service.
Among his major accomplishments in the first 100 days are his efforts to promote peace and security by mediating between farmers and herders, strengthening collaboration with security agencies and traditional leaders, and addressing community challenges through dialogue and inclusive consultation.
In terms of infrastructure and economic development, he ensured the provision of electricity by paying power bills on behalf of the people to KEDCO, repaired and installed new electric poles and wires, and rehabilitated clean water distribution systems across towns and villages. He also upgraded healthcare facilities, including major renovations at the Jibia Central Primary Healthcare Center, and supplied essential drugs to various health centers.
Additionally, he modernized office buildings within the local government secretariat, maintained constant engagement with community members during both celebrations and times of grief, improved land and housing acquisition processes, and sponsored executive council members to leadership training programs. During the 2025 Hajj, he distributed 50 Riyals which is equivalent to (₦22,500) each to 62 pilgrims from Jibia in Saudi Arabia and provided two new official vehicles and three motorcycles to key aides to enhance mobility and efficiency.
According to residents of Jibia, Hon. Sirajo Ado’s administration has proven that their votes were not wasted, as he continues to gain widespread support and goodwill from the community.
