The All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Nigeria will not be able to withstand the wrath of the masses in the 2027 elections, according to Mustafa Muhammad Inuwa, a leader of the opposition and former Secretary to the Katsina State Government.
In an interview with Hikaya TV, Inuwa stated that despite the recent endorsements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umar Radda for the 2027 elections, the APC government will still be overthrown due to its poor performance.
Mustafa Inuwa cited the deterioration of security, economy, business, health, education, and other infrastructure as evidence of the government’s failure to make progress in the past two years. He noted that most investors have suffered huge losses, with their investments dwindling to just 10% of their original value.
The former Secretary condemned the APC government’s contribution to the downfall of every aspect of development in Nigeria, contrasting it with the achievements of past leaders such as the late Umar Musa Yar’adua. Inuwa expressed confidence that Nigerians will play a significant role in overthrowing the APC government in the 2027 elections.
According to Inuwa, the endorsements of Tinubu and Radda by various APC members do not guarantee their victory in the elections. He emphasized that the common people of Nigeria, who have contributed the most to the election of leaders, are now suffering under the APC government and will be the ones to bring about change.
“Coalition of opposition groups is planning to challenge the APC government in the 2027 elections, with 100% of the people in support. He drew parallels with the 2015 elections, where the common people voted out the then-ruling party, and the 2023 elections, where the PDP won in Katsina State despite APC’s rigging efforts,” he said.
Recently, Hikaya Newspaper reports that the APC has recently received endorsements for its 2027 presidential and gubernatorial candidates. All 22 APC governors have endorsed President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. Similarly, all National Assembly members from Katsina State have endorsed Governor Radda for a second term in office, citing his purposeful and inclusive leadership.
The Katsina State House of Assembly has also unanimously endorsed Governor Radda for a second term, pledging to purchase his nomination form ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election. The Assembly members praised Governor Radda’s transformative impact across key sectors, including security, agriculture, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.
Mustafa Inuwa’s comments come in the wake of these endorsements, which are seen as a show of strength and solidarity within the APC. However, Inuwa remains confident that the party’s poor performance will ultimately lead to its downfall.
The opposition leader’s statement is a clear indication that the 2027 elections will be a crucial test for the APC government. The party’s ability to address the country’s challenges and deliver on its promises will be closely watched by the electorate.
As the 2027 elections approach, it remains to be seen how the APC government will respond to the criticisms and challenges posed by the opposition. One thing is certain, however: the Nigerian people will be watching closely, and their verdict will determine the course of the country’s history.
The APC government’s fate in the 2027 elections will depend on its ability to address the country’s pressing issues and win back the trust of the Nigerian people.
