Hon. Sada Soli, the Member of the House of Representatives for Kaita and Jibia Local Government Areas in Katsina State, has launched a scholarship program benefiting 40 students from the region.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the program aims to support both male and female students pursuing Degree, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees, covering their educational expenses from registration through to graduation.
The announcement was made by Nura Sa’ad, Chairman of the Programme Committee, who was represented by Dr. Sulaiman Bello, the Committee Secretary. Sa’ad revealed that the scholarship idea was proposed by a group of ten individuals who recognized the need for educational support in their communities. This initiative is designed to empower local students and enhance educational opportunities in the area.
Alhaji Idris Asasanta, the Katsina Zonal Chairman of the APC party, praised the scholarship program, highlighting its importance in fostering unity within the Jibia Local Government Area. He noted that in addition to the scholarships, each student received a computer and a cash grant of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000). Asasanta expressed confidence that the support for the APC in Jibia would lead to success in the upcoming 2027 elections.
The Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area, Hon. Sirajo Ado, also commended Hon. Sada Soli for his commitment to improving education in the region. He encouraged the scholarship recipients to dedicate themselves to their studies, emphasizing the broader benefits of education for both individuals and the community as a whole.
Alhaji Kabiru Manshe, Legislative Aide to Hon. Sada Soli, confirmed the program’s objectives, stating that it aims to serve the educational needs of students in Jibia. He acknowledged the importance of education and its potential to positively impact many lives, reinforcing the value of the scholarship initiative.
The grant-giving ceremony took place on Monday, May 19, 2024, at the Conference Chamber of Jibia Local Government Area. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including members of the APC party and local leaders, who gathered to celebrate this important step towards enhancing educational opportunities for the youth in the region.
