Mainasara Wins ADC Primary Election in Dala

Hon. Abdurrahman Mansur Salga, popularly known as Mainasara, has won the primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that Mainasara secured victory after polling 8,973 votes in the primary election conducted on May 21, 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Other contestants in the election included Hon. Nasir Isa and Hon. Bashir Muhammad.

The results announced by the electoral committee showed that Hon. Nasir Isa scored 821 votes, while Hon. Bashir Muhammad secured 1,584 votes. A total of 11,377 votes were cast in the election, with Abdurrahman Mainasara emerging with the highest number of votes.

The election, which was conducted peacefully, was attended by representatives of the party’s national headquarters, election observers, security personnel, and members of the ADC in Dala Local Government Area, who came out to cast their votes in an orderly manner and in line with electoral guidelines.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, Hon. Mainasara thanked party members for their support and confidence in him. He described the victory as a success for all members of the ADC.

He also called on the other contestants to unite and work together to strengthen the ADC and ensure victory in the 2027 general election. He said the time had come for party members to set aside differences and work collectively for the progress of the people and the party as a whole.

Following the outcome of the primary election, the ADC officially confirmed Hon. Abdurrahman Mansur Salga as its candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Dala Local Government Area in the 2027 general election.
