The Quranic Education Advancement Network (QEAN) has appointed freelance journalist Abdulrazak Ahmad Jibia as its National Director of Media and Publicity.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the appointment was contained in a letter signed by the National Secretary of the organisation, Dr. Abdullahi Hamza Idris, on behalf of the National Chairman, Imam Dr. Ibrahim Surajo Rabi’u. The letter said the appointment was made in recognition of Jibia’s commitment and dedication to the promotion of Tsangaya education.
According to the organisation, Jibia’s journalistic knowledge, wisdom, guidance and good moral conduct would contribute to the achievement of QEAN’s objectives. The letter also stated that the appointment took effect from September 3, 2026.
While receiving his certificate of appointment from Alaramma Muhammad Ahmad, Chairman of the QEAN Katsina State Chapter, Jibia thanked Allah Almighty for the opportunity and expressed appreciation to the organisation for the confidence placed in him.
Jibia is known for his modest and disciplined approach to public service and professional responsibilities. In his remarks, he emphasised humility, good manners, self-restraint, obedience and dedication to serving the faith, while presenting the appointment as a responsibility to serve rather than a position of personal status or authority.
Abdulrazak Ahmad Jibia’s journalism career has included work across television, radio, newspapers and digital media. He has served in editorial, news, programming, reporting and media management roles, including as Chief Editor of Hikaya Newspaper, Head of News at Hikaya Radio, Head of Programming at Hikaya TV, Production Manager at Hausa7 TV, Commercial Officer at Hausa Daily Post, Editor at Fact Broadcasting Company and a reporter with African Television Power.
His journalistic interests have particularly focused on Northern Nigeria, with attention to human rights, governance and accountability, education, conflict and displacement, and community development. Through human-interest, investigative and multimedia reporting, he has sought to bring public attention to issues affecting ordinary and vulnerable communities.
The Quranic Education Advancement Network (QEAN) is an organisation concerned with the advancement of Quranic and Tsangaya education in Nigeria. The network’s appointment of Jibia is expected to strengthen its media and public communication activities as it works to promote greater public awareness of its programmes and objectives.
