Supporters of Alhaji Muhammadu Halliru, popularly known as Sadaukin Jibia, have reaffirmed their support for his political movement, saying they remain committed to his leadership despite his failure to secure the APC ticket for the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency.
The supporters made their position known during a meeting held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the residence of Alhaji Mas’ud Salisu (Mass) in Dando area of Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State. The meeting brought together men, women and young people associated with the Gidan Amana Akida group and the Sadauki movement.
Speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Mas’ud Salisu said the group remained firmly behind Sadauki and had no intention of abandoning his political movement. He also dismissed reports suggesting that some members had left the movement, while Abdulra’uf Aminu Affo said those who had changed political direction had yet to demonstrate what they had achieved for the people they claimed to represent.
Malam Hamisu, a relative of Alhaji Halliru Muhammad, described Sadauki as a brother to the people because of his continued support for communities in Jibia and Kaita. Umar Bala Tuge also expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as previous expectations that Sadauki would become Speaker of the House of Representatives, saying such expectations had not materialised.
Other speakers, including Isah Hassan Dawana and Umar, said they remained committed to Sadauki’s political activities and would continue to support his decisions. They also said Sadauki was preparing to expand his support for communities and provide further assistance to residents.
Speaking on behalf of women at the gathering, Hajiya Aisha Diya said women remained committed to the movement and would continue supporting Sadauki’s efforts, particularly those aimed at assisting women and promoting community development. Alhaji Shafiu Baka Missing also thanked participants for attending and reaffirmed the group’s support for Alhaji Halliru Muhammad.
The meeting comes after reports that the APC used a consensus arrangement in selecting candidates for various positions, resulting in Sadauki not securing the party’s ticket to contest the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency seat. The supporters’ statements at the meeting focused on their continued political loyalty to him, while no independent confirmation was provided regarding some of the claims made by individual speakers.
