A new Taraba State Police Command Headquarters and a modern Divisional Police Headquarters in Yorro Local Government Area have been commissioned to strengthen security and improve police operations in the state.
The projects were commissioned during a ceremony attended by the Inspector-General of Police, represented by the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, CP Morkwap Sebastine Dongshal, alongside the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), Alhaji Mohammed Sheidu, and representatives of the Taraba State Government.
Speaking on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, CP Dongshal expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for their continued support in improving the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
He said the newly completed facilities align with the IGP’s people-centred policing agenda, which focuses on better welfare for police personnel, modern infrastructure, and a conducive working environment for officers and men of the Force.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, Alhaji Mohammed Sheidu, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the police through the provision of modern infrastructure and other resources needed for effective policing across the country.
According to him, the projects demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening internal security and enhancing the ability of the police to carry out their constitutional responsibilities. He added that the Trust Fund would continue to collaborate with the Nigeria Police Force to improve welfare, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
Representing Taraba State Governor, Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas (Rtd), CP Cyril Agbe (Rtd) commended the Federal Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for the intervention, describing the projects as important investments that will contribute to security and development in the state. He noted that the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to working with partners to improve policing services and ensure the safety of citizens.
