Hon. Sani Aliyu Danlami, the Member of the House of Representatives for Katsina local government area, has distributed relief materials valued at millions of naira to support local businesses.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the distribution event took place on Monday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, attracting a significant turnout of local government members, state legislators, and other stakeholders.
During the ceremony, on Monday, April 28, 2025, Danlami emphasized the importance of community support and pledged to assist the Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, in his efforts to enhance self-reliance among residents. “We are ready to represent him in the House of Representatives; we will do our best to support him,” Danlami stated, highlighting the collaborative spirit needed to address community challenges.
Governor Radda, who attended as the chief guest, praised Danlami’s initiative and encouraged other leaders to follow suit. He expressed his appreciation for the lawmaker’s commitment to the people of Katsina Local Government Area, stating, “This kind of representation is desired; if you are a leader, you are a leader to the people.”
The relief materials distributed included 20 large cars, 20 Hijet cars, 150 motorcycles, 150 bicycles, 50 patch machines, 150 irrigation machines for dry farming, and 60 million naira in cash. The beneficiaries comprised 351 party leaders, local government leaders, ward chairmen, and various executive committee members, among others.
The event was well-attended, with notable figures such as the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahayya Daura, and his deputy, as well as the Acting Chairman of the APC in the state, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa. Other attendees included former local government chairmen, members of parliament, and various commissioners and councillors.
Danlami’s initiative not only aims to bolster local businesses but also reinforces the commitment of elected officials to serve their constituents effectively. The distribution of these materials is seen as a significant step towards enhancing economic development and self-sufficiency in the Katsina community.
