Gov Dikko Umar Radda: A Champion for IDPs in Katsina State

The Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda has been working tirelessly to support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and victims of banditry attacks.

His administration’s efforts have been focused on providing financial assistance, rehabilitation, and empowerment programs to help affected communities recover and rebuild their lives.

Recently, the Katsina State Government collaborated with the New Nigeria Development Company Limited (NNDC) to disburse financial support to IDPs in Katsina, Jibia and Dutsinma Local Government Areas. The program, which aims to support affected communities with Ten Million Naira (₦10,000,000), has already benefited 300 IDPs in Katsina Local Government, with each recipient receiving ₦20,000. Similarly, 200 IDPs in Jibia and Dutsinma Local Governments received ₦20,000 each.

Shehu Mai-Bornu, Group Managing Director of NNDC Limited, commended Governor Radda’s administration for its tireless efforts in addressing humanitarian challenges faced by IDPs. “We recognize the efforts of the Katsina State Government led by His Excellency, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D in addressing the humanitarian challenges faced by our brothers and sisters displaced by insecurity and other crises.”

Governor Radda’s commitment to supporting IDPs is not limited to financial assistance. His administration has also been working to provide rehabilitation and empowerment programs to help affected communities recover and rebuild their lives. Hon. Saidu Ibrahim Danja ‘Kogunan Jibia’, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), urged beneficiaries to remain hopeful, assuring them that the state government and NNDC would continue to support initiatives that foster rehabilitation, empowerment, and long-term development.

As Governor Radda’s administration continues to address humanitarian challenges, this initiative serves as a testament to the power of partnership in promoting the well-being of IDPs.
