The Jigawa State Government has expressed appreciation to the Ganduje Foundation for providing free eye care and surgery to 1,000 patients in the state.
Governor Malam Umar Namadi stated this during the closing ceremony of the eye care program held at Sambo Hospital, Dutse, the state capital.
He emphasized that both the government and the people of Jigawa are highly pleased with the Ganduje Foundation’s contributions to the health sector.
In his remark, the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, highlighted that the foundation has been engaged in social services covering health, education, and religion over the past eleven years.
Earlier, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr Abdullahi Kainuwa pointed out that, the state government has employed over 2,190 permanent and pensionable health workers across the state.
According to him, the workers were posted hospitals and health centers across the state.
Dr. Kainuwa noted that, the state government has established kidney dialysis center in Hadejia,Gumel, Kazaure and Dutse for free services.
He added that, the present administration also expanded over 7 billion naira on the provision of health equipments,construction and renovation of facilities to improve the quality of health care services in the state.
Radio Nigeria reports that, some of the patients expressed appreciation to the Ganduje foundation for the gesture.
