Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commissioned the 24.5-kilometer Danja-Bazanga-Nahuce road, valued at N3 billion.
The project, assisted by the World Bank under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), aims to enhance trade and business activities in the area.
During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Radda announced plans for a new irrigation project at the Danja Dam, worth N3,054,862,335.33. He also outlined several ongoing road construction projects in Danja local government, including the Kasuwar Chindo-Dam Maigauta-Kirare-Nahuce road and the Danja-Dabai road under RAAMP.
The Governor’s efforts have been praised by local leaders, including Alhaji Rabo Tambaya, Chairman of Danja Local Government, who commended the state’s agricultural support programs. “Governor Radda’s provision of free farm inputs and implements to dry season farmers has revolutionized farming activities in our state,” Tambaya stated.
State Assembly Member representing Danja constituency, Alhaji Shamsuddeen Abubakar Dabai, also praised the Governor’s focus on impactful development. “The various projects executed under Governor Radda’s leadership have demonstrated a clear commitment to improving the lives of our common citizens,” Dabai remarked.
In addition to the Danja road project, Governor Radda also launched the construction of the 7.5-kilometer Gozaki-Sabon Gari-Layin Baushe road in Kafur Local Government, valued at over N4.6 billion. The project is being executed under the World Bank’s RAAMP.
Governor Radda has called for continued patience from citizens, affirming that his administration remains committed to delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Katsina State.
