Silver United Football Club emerged victorious in the AKENCY Foundation Cup, defeating Swan Sea Football Club in a thrilling match held at the Jibia United Stadium in Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Jibia, Katsina state, on Friday, January 31, 2025.
The match, played under the leadership of Hon. Abdulhakim Aliyu Sani, saw Silver United winning after 90 minutes of intense competition. With the score tied, Match Commissioner Sada Abdullahi SK ordered a penalty shootout, where Silver United’s number nine front player, Adda’u Kwalwa, scored the decisive goal.
The final match was attended by notable stakeholders, including Jibia Local Government Chairman Hon. Bishir Sabi’u Maitan, chairmanship candidate Hon. Sirajo Ado, APC Chairman Hon. Nasiru Almustafa Danye, and CEO of WHO IS FREE, Alhaji Nasiru Hussaini One-Boy.
In his address, Hon. Abdulhakim Aliyu Sani, founder of AKENCY Foundation, expressed his intention to organize future football matches to encourage young players and provide opportunities for them to join international football ranks.
After the match, players from Silver United were presented with Award Certificates. The chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Bishir Sabi’u Maitan, then handed over the trophy to the Silver United captain.
Several dignitaries, including Hon. Sirajo Ado, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal ‘Sarkin Noman Jibia’, and Alhaji Nasiru Hussaini One-Boy, expressed their goodwill and support for the AKENCY Foundation’s initiatives.
