The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its local government election campaign in Katsina State, with Hon. Sirajo Ado receiving the party’s flag ahead of the chairmanship election in Jibia Local Government.
The event, which took place in Ingawa Local Government Area on Sunday, January 26, 2025, was attended by a massive crowd of party supporters, who accompanied Sirajo Ado to receive the flag. In an interview with the press, Sirajo Ado expressed his gratitude to the people of Jibia Local Government for their support and encouragement.
Hon. Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Katsina State on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), also thanked the crowd for their participation and encouraged them to work hard to elect Sirajo Ado as the chairman of Jibia Local Government.
The National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, officially launched the party’s local government election campaign, receiving over 40,000 new card-carrying members from various opposition parties. Prominent politicians, including Alhaji Rabiu Gambo Bakori, Isah Hamisu Dandume, and Alhaji Yakubu Idris Danchafa, defected to the APC during the event.
Dr. Ganduje emphasized that the APC government’s commitment to development and prosperity motivated the defectors to join the party. He assured them of equal considerations and privileges with other party members. Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda pledged to conduct free and fair elections, encouraging electorates to support APC candidates in the upcoming elections.
The governor vowed to continue delivering the APC’s mandate to build a prosperous future for Katsina State. Alhaji Rabiu Gambo Bakori, speaking on behalf of the defectors, cited the governor’s commitment to development as the primary motivation for their political realignment.
The event was attended by senior party officials, including Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, and Senator Hadi Sirika. The APC is fielding candidates in all 34 local government areas of Katsina State, including Bakori, Batagarawa, and Jibia.
